SAN DIEGO, CA - December 12, 2001 -- The Titan Corporation (NYSE:TTN) today announced that Titan Wireless, through its subsidiary, Sakon, has completed the initial deployment of Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) technology in Bangladesh, Cameroon and Ghana and has begun providing broadband data and Internet services to corporate customers in each of these markets.

The deployments are part of Titan's strategy of capitalizing on the unmet demand for state-of-the art broadband data services by corporate customers in many developing countries. Sakon Bangladesh currently provides data and high speed Internet service to corporate customers in Dhaka, with plans to expand into two additional cities within the year, including Sylhett and the industrial center of Chittagong. Service in Cameroon has begun in the capital city of Douala and will expand to the city of Yaounde in the coming months. In Ghana, Sakon is servicing customers in the capital city of Accrah, with expansion to Temah planned in the near future. Customers in these markets are charged a monthly fee for service based upon the amount of bandwidth they consume. Current customers of Sakon's service in these markets include multi-national corporations, banks, hotels, and the Chittagong Stock Exchange.

"We believe these deployments further the Titan goal of becoming a leading provider of broadband services to corporate customers in developing countries in Africa and Central Asia. With the addition of our presence in Bangladesh, Cameroon and Ghana, the Titan network continues to expand and to offer corporations in developing countries highly reliable, end to end, business class broadband service at a cost effective price," said Eric M. DeMarco, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Titan.

Headquartered in San Diego, The Titan Corporation creates, builds and launches technology-based businesses, offering innovative technical solutions. Three of Titan's four core businesses develop and deploy communications and information technology solutions and services. In addition, Titan's subsidiary SureBeam (Nasdaq: SURE) markets the leading technology for the electronic pasteurization of food products. Titan is continually identifying promising technologies suitable for commercialization. The company has 10,000 employees and annualized sales of approximately $1.3 billion.
