India's Gateway Systems Extends BWA Network Using Alvarion Products - Both BreezeACCESS and WALKair

Gateway Continues to Expand Rapidly and Launches Services in New Cities.

 

 

 

   

TEL - AVIV, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 5, 2001--Alvarion Ltd. (NASDAQ: ALVR - news), a leading provider of Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) solutions, today announced the receipt of follow-on orders from Gateway Systems, India's first Broadband Wireless Access provider.

The orders are for additional WALKair terminal equipment in the 10.5Ghz band, and for new BreezeACCESS systems in the 2.4Ghz bands.

Following the success in serving business customers in four cities, Gateway is now expanding its advanced BWA network to additional cities and continues to connect new customers. Furthermore, Gateway is adding capability in the 2.4GHz bands, leveraging its network investment to target entry-level Internet access applications.

Gateway is a well-financed company owned in part by Sakon, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Titan Corporation (NYSE:TTN - news), Initially Gateway installed WALKair base stations in the 10.5GHz frequency band in the Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Delhi regions. Gateway has launched commercial services via WALKair to corporate customers since 1st September 2000.
