- Alvarion Ltd. received
follow-on orders from Gateway Systems, an Indian broadband wireless
access provider.
Gateway ordered WALKair terminal equipment for operations in the 10.5
GHz band and breezeACCESS systems for operations in the 2.4 GHz band.
Gateway has already deployed WALKair base stations in the 10.5 GHz band
in the Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Delhi regions of India.
“Gateway's 10.5 GHz spectrum license covers all of India's strategic
markets and enables the provision of wireless broadband services to more
than 70% of India's businesses,” said Andy Goorno, CEO at Sakon. “The
BreezeACCESS will allow us to expand our business to additional markets
in India.”
Gateway is owned in part by Sakon, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of
the Titan Corp.
Alvarion is a point-to-multipoint
broadband wireless access solutions provider formed from the merger of
BreezeCOM and Floware this year.
